To educate our future leaders at all ages, the HNC Education department also oversees the:

• C’imo’ca Headstart Childcare Centre
• Haisla Community school
• Haisla Recreation Centre which includes the Recreation Coordinator and Recreation Attendants

Haisla Youth Centre

The Haisla Youth Centre falls under the Education department and offers programing for youth ages 8-18 years of age. A calendar is shared every month of upcoming activities.

Starting in June 2024 the Haisla Youth Centre will be running two separate programs as follows:

1. Haisla Youth Centre - Before and After Childcare

• Our new licensed Before and Afterschool Care Program will be running the afterschool program starting June 10th.
• The program will run Monday to Friday, 3:00 pm-5:30 pm.
• This program is for youth ages 5- 12-year old.
• We have new registration forms and a parent handbook for this program. (In the handbook we have fees, these fees will be waived for June and for our summer program).

2. Haisla Youth Centre - Youth Program

• This program will run Monday to Friday, 6:00 pm-8:30 pm
• The program is for youth ages 13-18 years old and attending will be Youth Drop in format.

• On Homework Club days we will open to this age group starting at 4:00 pm.
• On Cooking Days we will allow youth aged 10-18 years old from 6:00pm-8:00pm (Note: at this time this will be the only combined age group)
