The Education & Training Department of the Haisla Nation is committed to fostering the lifelong learning and professional growth of Haisla members. By providing comprehensive educational services and training opportunities, the department aims to empower individuals to achieve their full potential, preserve and promote Haisla culture, and contribute to the prosperity and well-being of the community.

Haisla Community School

The Haisla Community School exists to provide a high-quality, culturally relevant K-7 education for Haisla children, integrating academic excellence with the preservation and promotion of Haisla culture, language, and values. The school is a vital part of the Haisla Nation’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders and community members.

Cultural Integration

Embedding Haisla culture, language, and values into the curriculum to ensure students develop a deep connection with their heritage.

Academic Excellence

Providing high-quality education in core subjects such as literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies to build a strong academic foundation.

Holistic Development

Supporting the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being of each student through a balanced educational approach.

Community Involvement:

Encouraging active participation from parents, elders, and community members to create a strong support system for students.

Employment & Training Program

The Employment & Training program of the Haisla Nation is dedicated to empowering Haisla members by providing comprehensive support for their educational, career, and employment journeys. The program aims to enhance the economic well-being of individuals and the broader community by ensuring access to relevant training, education, and job opportunities.

Educational Support

Offering financial assistance for post-secondary education, certificate programs, and trades training to help members acquire the qualifications they need.

Employment Services

Providing job search assistance, resume writing, interview preparation, and job placement services to connect members with meaningful employment.

Career Counselling

Delivering personalized career guidance to help individuals identify their strengths, set career goals, and create actionable plans to achieve them.

Academic Advising

Supporting students in selecting educational programs that align with their career aspirations and providing ongoing academic support to ensure their success.

Community Engagement

Collaborating with joint-venture and limited partners, educational institutions, and community organizations to create a network of opportunities for Haisla members.
