As of June 2024 the Employment & Training department implemented a new email system to help streamline communication to and from membership.

This new system is designed to improve our ability to serve you and respond to your needs more effectively.

Youth Extracurricular Fund

The Employment & Training department also administers the Youth Extracurricular Fund.

The Haisla Nation Youth Extracurricular Fund (YEF) is available to all registered Haisla Nation Band Members aged 18 years or younger.

In 2024, the youth fund policy was reviewed and updated to include a wider range of activities beyond sports. The revised policy increased funding for youth aged 0-18 from $1,500 to $2,500 annually for extracurricular activities. The scope now encompasses:

Sports and Physical Activities: Team sports (e.g., soccer, basketball), individual sports (e.g., tennis, swimming), dance, gymnastics, martial arts, etc.

and

Arts and Creative Activities: Music (e.g., band, choir), theater, visual arts (e.g., painting, drawing), writing, film and media production.
