The Public Works & Infrastructure program of the Haisla Nation ensures the safe, sustainable, and efficient operation and maintenance of the Haisla Nation's infrastructure, enhancing the quality of life for all community members through reliable services and community beautification.
· Operation, maintenance, and repair of water treatment, wastewater systems, roads, and sewers.
· Ensuring all infrastructure meets health, safety, and environmental standards.
· Continuous monitoring and upgrading of infrastructure systems to enhance service delivery.
· Efficient deployment of the public works crew to maintain and improve public infrastructure.
· Regular training and development to ensure the crew is skilled and knowledgeable in the latest infrastructure management practices.
· Initiatives to enhance the visual and environmental quality of public spaces.
· Promoting green spaces, landscaping, and cleanliness throughout the community.
· Engaging with community members to foster pride in shared spaces and encourage participation in beautification efforts.
The Safety & Security program of the Haisla Nation protects the well-being of the Haisla Nation community by ensuring a safe and secure environment through proactive safety measures, effective emergency response, and the promotion of occupational health and safety.
· Maintain a well-equipped and trained volunteer fire department ready to respond to fires and other emergencies.
· Regular drills, training, and community outreach to ensure readiness and public awareness of fire safety.
· Ensure all emergency responders are trained and equipped to handle a wide range of emergencies.
· Develop and regularly update comprehensive emergency response plans tailored to the needs of the Haisla Nation.
· Coordinate with local, regional, and national agencies to ensure a unified and effective response to emergencies.
· Implement programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing the overall safety of the community.
· Collaborate with community members, leaders, and other stakeholders to identify and address safety concerns.
