Haisla Patient Travel will be closed at noon on Friday, December 19, 2025, and will reopen on January 5, 2026.
For all clients who will, or have changed their upcoming appointments during this time, please contact Patient Travel to update your travel.
For those who are travelling out of town during the holiday season and up until January 09, 2026:
- Your travel will be arranged and ready for pick up on December 18, 2025, by end of workday.
- You can expect your travel deposit on December 12th or December 18th.
- Please check your bank account on these dates.
Flight Delays or Rescheduling:
- If your flight is delayed, please follow the instructions of the Airline.
- If your flight is rescheduled to the next day, please call or text the work cell and we will arrange accommodation at the Accent Inn Richmond. You may take the shuttle from YVR to the hotel which is complimentary and leaves every hour.
From December 20, 2025, through January 4, 2026
Patient Travel will be on-call only for:
- MediVac clients and escorts
- You must request that either the Indigenous Liaison or the Emergency Department email srobinson@haisla.ca the following:
- Destination hospital; escort name and cell number; approximate date and time of MediVac departure.
- ***The escort must call the work cell to follow up once the paramedics arrive to pick up the client. If we do not hear from the escort, then we will be unable to process travel properly.
- We are only able to arrange flight and hotel. The HN Finance Department will be closed during the Christmas break.
- Please keep taxi receipts for reimbursement.
