The Finance Department of the Haisla Nation is dedicated to ensuring the financial stability, accountability, and transparency of the Nation’s resources. By managing financial operations with integrity, the department supports the sustainable growth and development of the Haisla Nation, ensuring that financial practices align with community values and long-term goals.

 

Financial Management & Reporting

Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, budget management, and compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Budgeting & Planning

Develop and manage the Nation’s annual budget, providing fiscal guidance and support to all departments to ensure effective use of resources.

Revenue Management

Oversee the collection, management, and reporting of all revenues, including government funding, grants, and other sources of income.

Expenditure Management

Implement stringent controls over expenditures, ensuring funds are spent effectively and in alignment with approved budgets and community priorities.

Internal Controls & Auditing

Maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure the accuracy of financial records. Conduct regular audits to uphold financial integrity.

Financial Advisory & Support Services

Provide financial guidance to the Nation’s leadership, departments, and community members to support informed decision-making.

Training & Capacity Building

Enhance the financial literacy and skills of the Haisla Nation’s employees and members through training and capacity-building initiatives.

Address and/or bank Information Updates

The Finance department is responsible for banking and information updates such as address, e-mail and other vital information.

Haisla Members are encouraged to complete the Membership Information Update form if they change their address or banking details.
