Haisla Nation Council has appointed Paula Smith as Deputy Chief Councillor. The decision was made at a Council Meeting on March 25, 2026 and will be effective March 30, 2026 until the end of her term.

In this role, Paula will support the elected Chief Councillor and represent the Nation in committees, meetings, and gatherings. Her leadership will contribute to the continued strength and direction of Haisla governance.
