Registered Nurses (RNs)
- Lead the delivery of primary and specialized healthcare services.
- Provide health education and preventive care tailored to community needs.
- Coordinate patient care and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs)
- Support RNs in clinical tasks, including administering medications and monitoring patients.
- Provide direct care and assist in the implementation of patient care plans.
- Educate patients and families on health maintenance and disease prevention.
Patient Care Aides
- Offer personal care and support for daily living activities.
- Assist in maintaining patient comfort and dignity.
- Support the healthcare team in delivering individualized patient care.
Homemakers
- Provide essential in-home support, including housekeeping and meal preparation.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and nurturing home environment.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life.
Patient Travel
- Facilitate access to specialized healthcare by coordinating travel for medical appointments.
- Manage logistical aspects of patient travel, ensuring seamless access to care.
- Support patients and families through the travel process to reduce stress and anxiety.
Community Wellness Program
The Community Wellness Program of the Haisla Nation is committed to fostering the mental, emotional, social, and physical well-being of the Haisla Nation community through comprehensive support services, promoting a balanced and healthy life for all members.
Outreach Support Workers
- Engage with community members to provide support, resources, and guidance.
- Connect individuals and families with relevant services, including mental health, housing, and social supports.
- Build trust within the community to encourage the utilization of wellness services.
Mental Health Clinicians
- Offer specialized mental health services, including assessments, therapy, and treatment planning.
- Provide crisis intervention and support for individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care.
Counsellors
- Provide one-on-one and group counselling sessions to address a range of mental health issues.
- Support individuals in managing stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health conditions.
- Promote mental wellness through educational workshops, support groups, and community initiatives.
Recreation Services
- Integrate physical activity into the wellness framework by managing the Haisla Recreation Centre and soccer field.
- Offer diverse recreation programs that promote physical health, teamwork, and social interaction, including fitness classes, sports leagues, and community events.
- Encourage all ages to participate in activities that support both physical and mental well-being.
