The Haisla Nation Elders Wellness Fund is here to honour and uplift our x̄á’isla elders by supporting their physical, mental, and social well-being. We recognize the wisdom and strength our elders bring to the community, and this fund is one way we show our gratitude and care.

What is the Elders Wellness Fund?

The Elders Wellness Fund provides financial assistance for activities that help our elders stay active, connected, and engaged. From fitness and creative programs to cultural gatherings and wellness services, this fund is designed to enhance quality of life and foster community connection.

Who Can Apply?

All registered x̄á’isla Nation members aged 55 and older are eligible. Whether you live in Haisla or elsewhere, we want to ensure you have access to opportunities that support your health and happiness.

What Can the Fund Cover?

The fund supports a variety of activities and services, including:

  • Seasonal Extracurriculars: Gym passes, swimming, fitness classes, sports gear, art workshops, music, and cultural activities.
  • Seasonal Wellness: Basic haircuts, pedicures, manicures, and wellness workshops.
  • Transportation & Travel: Bus passes and stipends for attending one provincial and one regional cultural event per year.
Funding Limits
  • Up to $1,500 per year for extracurricular activities
  • Up to $500 per year for wellness services
  • Up to $500 per year for transportation and travel

How to Apply

  1. Complete the Elders Wellness Fund Application Form.
  2. Submit your application and supporting documents to elderwellnessfund@haisla.ca or drop it off at the Haisla Nation Elders Centre.
  3. Applications are reviewed promptly, and you’ll be notified within 15 working days.

Staying active, creative, and socially connected helps reduce isolation, supports emotional well-being, and promotes independence. This fund is about more than financial support—it’s about ensuring our elders feel valued, included, and celebrated.
