ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Student eligibility requirements:

  1. Must be a status Indigenous person registered to the Haisla Band. A copy of the student’s status card, or a letter of confirmation from HN’s Indian Registry Agent will be sufficient.
  2. High school and post-secondary students must be actively enrolled in school during the year of hire.
  3. High school students should submit their most recent report card.
  4. Priority will be given to students in Grades 12, 11, and 10.
  5. If we do not receive enough applications to fill all available positions, we may consider students who have just completed Grade 9.
  6. Must have a valid SIN number for application.
  7. Must submit a Haisla Nation Council Employment & Training Application, which includes the following:
    1. Haisla Nation Summer Student Employee application, signed by a parent/guardian.
    2. Letter of Acceptance and/or registration form from the student’s secondary school, school district, or post-secondary institution where the student will be attending the Summer Student program.
    3. Should the student make purchases for any of the costs associated with the Summer Student program, clear copies of receipts/invoices must be provided. The student’s parent/guardian will receive the reimbursement. 
    4. Provide a resume.
