Haisla Nation Council [HNC] is grateful to its partners and Joint Ventures who have been supportive of our community as plans are made to address coronavirus.

“In particular we want to thank the work of our joint venture partner International SOS which has been so helpful in addressing our local needs,” says Chief Councillor Crystal Smith. “The company has been extremely supportive in finding equipment and supplies to help our community.”

Supplies and equipment acquired through International SOS will directly benefit HNC’s health services staff and our community first responders. HNC is also working with stakeholders to support the delivery of health care in the wider local area, sharing any resource it can.

“As an organization we are working closely with the District of Kitimat, its first responders and health care providers to understand the ways we can work together to address this crisis,” adds Smith. “We understand that we are facing a problem that requires cooperation, and we will continue to work in collaboration with all agencies. We want to be a part of the bigger solution and are supporting that goal any way we can.”
