Close to 150 participants, including Haisla Nation Council business partners and supporters, came out to enjoy a day of golf at the Morgan Creek Golf Club in Surrey, where Haisla Nation Council hosts an annual golf tournament which has been the signature fundraiser for the Haisla Amateur Sports Youth Fund, a funding program to put Haisla members into sports and competitions.
The event has now been hosted for six years and supporters have consistently showed their generosity to this Haisla program.
Haisla Nation Council staff are currently doing the math to find out how much was raised this year but it’s clear the event was a success.
“We are all so thankful for the generosity of our many partners and supporters in providing an opportunity for our youth,” said Chief Councillor Crystal Smith. “This tournament is held with our youths’ future in mind and we see the benefits carry through the entire year.”
