INTERNAL/EXTERNAL POSTING
 
Kitamaat Village Council has an immediate opening for a:
 
Clerk of the Works
 
 
Reporting to the Community Development Manager, the Clerk is responsible to the Kitamaat
Village Council to monitor the new construction, addition, renovations or repairs to building and
homes in the Haisla community.  In this role you will work closely with the owner, builder and
architect observing the quality and progress of construction to determine that it is proceeding in
accordance with the contract and schedule. 
 
We are currently seeking an experienced person to join the Community Development Department
on a full time basis, working 35 hours per week.  
 
Qualifications:
 
• Post secondary education in construction, civil engineering or architectural technology,
preferred;
• Individuals with several years of experience as a qualified tradesperson in a construction
trade such as plumbing, carpentry or electrical are preferred; 
• Willing to achieve certification through the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of
British Columbia (ASTTBC);
• Physically fit with the ability to lift 25 – 50 pounds;
• Demonstrated excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills;
• Proficient in related computer programs;
• Willing and able to pass a criminal record check;
• Valid BC Drivers license, own vehicle an asset.
