Dear Haisla member,
Haisla Nation Council, through a duly convened meeting held November 15, 2018, has approved a Band Council Resolution which provides eligible Haisla members with a one-time Per Capita Distribution (PCD) payment, of $5,000.
The source of the funds of this PCD is through Haisla Nation Joint Venture and Limited Partnership revenues.
Under the Haisla Nation Council PCD distribution policy, members are eligible under the following conditions:
- A member, 18 years of age or older, on the Haisla Nation band list; and,
- A member in good financial standing with Haisla Nation Council.
- A member who owes monies to Haisla Nation Council and is not in good financial standing with HNC, will have the amount of the PCD deducted towards those debts.
- Deductions are also possible through provincial and federal agencies (e.g., Family Maintenance, Canada Revenue Agency), and Haisla Nation Council has no control over those matters.
Haisla Nation members who are minors (under 18 years of age) are also eligible, and the amount of their PCD will be placed into a specially created Trust which will be accessible after the member has turned 18 years of age.
Changing your address
Please ensure your mailing address is up to date. Send any change of address information to Assistant Comptroller Deb Grant, in writing, to either firstname.lastname@example.org, or fax to 250-632-2840.
Haisla members have an option through this PCD to receive either; a physical cheque, or; have the money direct deposited in to their bank account.
Electronic deposits of the funds will be made on December 14, 2018. Please provide official documents from your financial institution or a void cheque, to HNC’s Finance Assistant. You can call her at 1-888-842-4752 extension 119, or e-mail email@example.com.
Banking details must be received by December 6, 2018, at 3 pm. Please contact the Finance Assistant within two business days of the deposit date if the money has not reached your account. Haisla Nation Council is not responsible for any delay or loss of funds due to incorrect or incomplete information supplied by the member or the financial institution, or due to an error on the part of any financial institution.
Cheques will be distributed on December 17, 12 pm to 5 pm, at the Haisla Recreation Centre.
Any remaining cheques will be mailed on December 18.
